WHAT IS COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY?

Pediatric Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) involves assisting children to reflect on and alter negative thinking patterns that influence behavior and mood. It involves a lot of talking therapy and learning new behavior patterns that help them substitute the negative behaviors for positive ones. CBT is specifically on changing what kids think, and changing those thoughts that lead to fear and sadness. It helps children learn to think in a positive way and in a more balanced manner, which in the end affects their outlook and behaviour.
