WHAT IS BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION PLAN (BIP)

A behavior intervention plan (BIP) is a specific way of handling some behavior issues, which are resulted from some strategies that have been as a plan. On the social and communication aspect, it fosters the right dimension in the kid and acceptable demeanour in class and at home. Implemented by a behavior interventionist, this plan is developed and initiated in collaboration with the student, the student’s parents, and teachers.

The BIP describes the role of the targeted behavior, the replacement behavior, and how the latter will be taught. Before proceeding, it is necessary to understand that the implementation of a BIP is not punitive in nature; on the contrary, it intends to instruct the correct behavior through the use of positive consequences.
